Court Pendu Plat apples have a rich aromatic flavour with good sugar/acid balance and are sweetly scented.  It is suggested that this apple may have originated in Roman times and probably came from Europe as it was extensively grown through France and Germany.  The first record of it is in about 1613.  The name is derived from Corps Pendu referring to the short stalk
